58,281 pounds of raw ground beef are recalled, please pay attention to these sales areas!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that American Food Group and commercial operator Green Bay Dressed Beef Company has recalled approximately 58,281 pounds of raw ground beef products due to the risk of possible E. coli contamination.

The decision comes after state public health officials discovered from samples collected that some of the products may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) O103.

These products have the establishment number "EST.18076" within the USDA mark of inspection.The following are three products subject to the recall:

The recalled foods have been shipped to distributors in Georgia, Michigan and Ohio.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions resulting from consumption of these products.

But USDA still strongly urges dealers and customers who may have purchased these products not to use them or continue to distribute them.

"These recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase," the agency said.

Regarding E. coli infection,The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reminds the public to be especially careful about this risk.

People may develop symptoms within one to XNUMX days after eating food containing STEC bacteria.

These symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes accompanied by blood) that worsens over several days.

Although most people are able to recover within a week, some people may experience a more severe infection or even die.
