About food and the show

More than a year ago, Jenny and Rachel of the production team contacted Foodie and invited us to participate in this drama, hoping to talk about Chinese food eaten by new Chinese immigrants, our attitude towards Chinese food, etc.
We talked very well, but as an international student starting a new media platform in a foreign country, I know that we are still young and there are too many areas to improve.
With so many big coffees this time, I couldn't help but ask:
Why did you choose food?

This is Jenny's answer:

We want to showcase the diversity of Chinese in the United States, including the third generation of Chinese who immigrated from their ancestors in the 19th century, and new immigrants who have recently arrived... We also want to showcase the rich local cuisine in mainland China today. In the course of our research, we discovered that food-eaters are forming a community among the new generation of immigrants in North America, connecting these new immigrants with the taste of their hometown. This thing is great.

We also want to understand what the new generation of Chinese entrepreneurs are doing, compared to what Cecilia did 50 years ago...and also hope to understand your different understandings and concepts of authentic Chinese food under different personal experiences and family histories. "

(Before Jiang Sunyun, San Francisco was basically Cantonese "Chop Suey" Chop Suey. As a Beijinger, Jiang Sunyun opened a high-end Chinese restaurant in San Francisco, Mandarin (Fu Lu Shou), to Americans who only knew Chop Suey I tasted authentic Chinese food such as pot stickers and braised pork for the first time.)
