Although the state government is formulating a corresponding start plan, there are still huge variables in whether Washington State public schools can start successfully in the fall. A latest test report shows that Washington State University is clearly facing a serious situation of the new crown epidemic.
As of the test data as of July 7 (Sunday), at least 5 new students at BGI have tested positive for COVID-121.Three campuses of the University of WashingtonAt least 213 confirmed cases, More than a thousand close contact students, relatives and friends were forced to stay at home.

Of the 121 newly reported University of Washington students diagnosed with the new crown virus, 112 students are residents of about 15 fraternity dormitories in the Greek row of the campus community, and the other 9 students are close relatives of the dorm members, but I do not live in these dormitories.

According to statistics from Washington State University, as of now, there are 213 confirmed cases in the three campuses of BGI, including 203 in the Seattle campus. However, the actual number is likely to be higher because the school can only count the cases of members of the BGI community who voluntarily reported to the school that they tested positive.
The public health department recently set up a new testing station within walking distance of Greek Street where the dormitory is crowded. As of last weekend, the testing station had completed tests for more than 1300 people.
Now, thousands of students have been asked to self-isolate.
The University of Washington has stated that it hopes to resume face-to-face teaching in the fall. Governor Insley also announced on June 6 that public and private universities and vocational education institutions will be allowed to resume teaching on campus in the fall.
The sudden increase in new cases adds uncertainty to this plan. The University of Washington stated: “The safety of the school’s staff, students, and students’ families is the school’s first consideration.”
