Unexpected Catalina

Fluttering cloud cloth color

Catalina Island, familiar to the people of South Africa, is 25 miles from Long Beach and 1 hour by boat. I used to go shopping on the island every year, drive a golf cart, watch bison, and take a submarine, but only after I started a high-power camping, I discovered that Catalina Island is a feng shui treasure camp.Sleeping under the stars and the waves, the dreams are blue.

It was still a bit cold in May this year, and I started planning a camping trip on Catalina Island alone. After research, he decided to choose Parson's Landing, the best camping site on the island and the hardest to reach. Parson's Landing is located on the other side of Catalina Island, the lesser-known two Harbors, and can only be reached here by boat departing from San Pedro every day. Avalon provides a tour bus tour of the whole island project, which will take tourists to pass by. Therefore, compared with Avalon, Two harbors are quieter and more local. Usually, few tourists, boat owners and locals gather here.

Lovely sign: Mayor of multiple roles

There are several options for camping at Two Harbors: tents and cabins are set up for everything from solo to group camping. But many campers who like a challenge are full of praise for Parson's Landing. This camp is 7 miles from Two Harbors, which is far from the hustle and bustle of the world. After disembarking, you need to backpack and hike 7 miles across the mountains to the camp.Since Parson's Landing is a Primitive Campsite, it does not provide any artificial shelter and drinking water. However, campers can spend 20 yuan to buy 2.5 gallons of drinking water and a bundle of firewood that have been placed in the camp locker in advance, which greatly reduces the burden of hiking.

Hiking from Two Harbors along the island's flat dirt road and walking around the island, after nearly 10 summer camps of all sizes, slowly came to the base of the camp. The vegetation on Catalina Island in May is already dry and yellow, and walking on the dirt road will inevitably bring up dust, but the clear blue water next to it is indeed refreshing. For me, "Every time I feel sad, just look at the sea alone" has always been applicable.

Since Parson's Landing has only 8 camps, it needs to be booked at least two weeks in advance. Especially in summer and holiday weekends, it is extremely hot and hard to find a seat. The campsite is marked as No.1 to No.8, of which campsite No.1 is the most loved by campers because of the hidden nature of the backwaters around the mountains and the special pebble beach in front of the campsite. It was also very difficult to book, and I did not book it. However, the camp 7 selected by mistake, I still believe that this is the best camp for Parson's Landing.

I do n’t know how high the stone wall was

Because Parson's Landing is located deep in Catalina Island, it is also a front yard for wildlife. During the three days and two nights of Parson's Landing camping, a huge bison came to graze and basked outside the camp every morning, and was generously accepted by the campers' attention. Then stroll back to the mountains in the afternoon. At noon when we left the camp, the bison went down the stairs and walked around in the camp after a long walk, leaving a panic and startled campers.

From Parson's Landing, you can hike to the northernmost starlight beach (Starlight Beach) on Catalina Island, or you can go fishing and hiking in the offshore waters and enjoy the cleanliness of the island. You can also bring a submersible and floating device to watch the underwater world. Many experienced anglers will also catch lobster, sea urchin and abalone in the sea. Since we are all photographers who have not yet developed fishing skills, we had to take pictures around the mountains, so that our memories are not only frozen in our hearts, but also frozen in our photos.
